The cooldown next week is getting less and less impressive. Also, short lived as well. The 80s return once again, but nothing like what we are getting now.

The Euro is cool still, but now it's showing the prophetical warmup to begin October.

Btw: yesterdays record was an incredible 98.4F :o smashing the old record of 88F set back in 1922. It neva got this hot all Summer. Although, the humidity was not too bad. This is one uncommon heatwave.

The record high of 96° at GRR on September 23rd not only set a new record high for the date it is now the latest’s that it has gotten that hot here in Grand Rapids. And it was the hottest day here in Grand Rapids since July 19th 2013. In the recorded weather history at Grand Rapids that goes back to 1892 there has only been 8 times it has gotten to 96° or better at Grand Rapids (3 locations over the years) In September. With the last time it got this hot in September was on September 6th 1960. With the all time record high being 98° on September 2nd 1913. Here at my house I had a high of 98° but of course that is not official and will not count.

It looks like October will feature a warm beginning. Hopefully, this will lead to a cold November and set us all up for a cold, snowy Winter.

Maybe, that's a hint of a potential 2013-14' Winter coming.

We hit 90 again today, although came up a couple degrees shy of the last few days.  We have one more very warm day tomorrow(upper 80s), but then get the refreshing air.  I'm very much done with this hot stuff.

Haven't checked my old record, but, definitely smashed a new record today.

The Twin Cities just set a record this weekend for the latest stretch of consecutive days above 90F (3 days). Previous record was Sept 21-23, 1891. Historical stuff for sure.

In all my life, I've never seen so many boaters in Lake Michigan! At every launch site empty trailers were parked up and down both shoulders. On the river in Grand Haven where you'd normally see 30-40 boats a quick count gave me at least 100 craft of every size. I guess after a cool August and frigid start to Sept, everybody was taking this last chance to get out one more time. No official stats that I'm aware of kept by the Coast Guard, but this had to be a record of some kind! Especially for Sept, but likely for any month. I'll be remembering this for a long time..

This weather is absurd and its not like its a day or two of heat, its a long lasting heatwave which never occurred all Summer long. Never broke or tied so many record high temps in a row and I mean neva. Go figure.

Had a little under an inch of rain from a couple of brief storms yesterday afternoon and then overnight last night. Radar shows a nice area of moderate to heavy rain getting ready to move in for today

Wish I can same the same for my area. My radar looks as dry as it can get. Not even an echo showing.

You guys out in NE are making up on your rain deficits quickly! Nice plume of moisture over your state and more to come. Send some here...

Is this the hottest Chicago has ever gotten this late in the season?! I hear all kinds of records being broken there.

Boy, models are really struggling on what the pattern next week will look like. CFS/CFSv2 has been most consistent. Maybe after Maria kicks out later in the week we will see better consistency. GEFS have been going back and forth for the opening days of Oct but of late, they are starting to paint a trough swinging through the central Rockies and into the Plains which was not seen at all before.

Neva eva in the history of Chitown's record keeping have we baked this late in the season. Not the records I like to see happen but it's fun to know this is a historic run.

I thought you were in MI during March of 2012? Pretty sure we had more records broken than this current streak.

Well, this what happens when arctic blasts happen "out of season". Augtober and Septvember were totally uncalled for, lol. Pretty strange that we had those weeks in an over-all warm regime. This is totally like the scorcher Dec of 2014 after that November chill to remember.

Just gimme cold outbreaks in winter - PLEASE!

And I'm with Hawkeye; had my day at the beach yesterday and I'm done with it.
