Reg
Stay safe, Mr Marine Layer and Dan. Wind has not yet started back up this morning here, in fact the air has returned to being crystal-clear for now. 41F here this morning, and that was in direct sunlight. Coldest morning since March 29th.
Anti Marine Layer
Still very close to the mandatory evacuation area here. Smoke looks a lot thinner than yesterday, but it has stunk horribly since after sunset last night.

Our heat, drought, wildfires and overpopulation might not be quite at their level, but we are at least a close runner up

The dew points dipped into the 10's briefly this afternoon and now its back up into the 50's.

Anti Marine Layer
Santa Ana winds made a lot of mess here and knocked down at least one eucalyptus tree in the forest area of Lake Forest. Yesterday the sea breeze returned. Weaker Santa Ana winds possible on Sunday.

Anti Marine Layer
We've got Halloween, Fall Back, earliest solar noon of 2020 and Election Day in a 4-day period starting tomorrow. It's chilly this morning but the afternoon should be hot again.

Anti Marine Layer
With trick-or-treating ruled out by being a ghastly danger due to the invisible enemy, I decided to go for a nice long walk through the forest instead. As I did, some spooky high clouds made an unexpected arrival, completely blotting out the sun. In the shadows, I decided to go on a ghost hunt through the ominous forest, but instead of finding any ghosts, an ugly witch named Nancy Pelosi stirred up her brew next to the grimy creek and scolded me for not wearing a mask. It didn't matter that no one else was in sight. She tried to catch me, but I told her she might give me covid, especially since she was not wearing a mask herself. I barely escaped and made it back into the neighborhood unscathed, when suddenly a creepy "Katie Porter for Congress" sign jumped out at me. A voice said "I will give you the best health insurance, totally government controlled, if you voooottttteeeee for meeeeeeeeeee". I said "No way" and made a dash for it. As the clouds thickened, I made it safely back home just in time.

Anti Marine Layer
Very bright this morning as the sunrise time was the same as early August. Earliest solar noon of the year is today as the Equation of Time maxes out at about 16 1/2 minutes early. Also the earliest sunset (and sunrise) of the year at the Equator.
