So…. I figure I’ll just come clean. All the “January” posts over the last 11 months or so were actually a reference to the forum’s big switch to becoming the PNW affiliate for Court TV.11 points

Duuuuuude. You have been over-the-top excited about how frigid its been for the last 2 months. You would think its been like the Yukon in Seattle. Now we have the inevitable offset for a couple weeks and you are being over-the-top negative. In reality its all just small variations in our maritime climate winter. There will likely be more cold and snow coming.10 points

You know things are bad in terms of weather when the main topic is a serial killer trial and Jim has a meltdown over our pineapple January.5 points

I'm encouraged that there are honest mechanics like you still out there. All the more reason I'm thrilled you were buried recently. I know it is frustrating. But thank you for your integrity.4 points

Again... consider that person's perspective at 4 a.m. that morning. She never imagined her roommates were being killed. This was a party house. She might have thought it was one of her roommates hooking up and the guy looked really creepy so better lock her door. She didn't know a mass murder had just been committed. Its only in hindsight that it becomes so sinister and evil.4 points

As Tom mentioned the Euro Weeklies show a lot of action in late Jan into February. The Control run of the weeklies is lining up with the MJO quite well.4 points

We had 18” of snow last April. I’m not going to ever say a bad word about April 2022.3 points

On the “bright” side, today is the first day I’ve noticed the daylight lingering a bit longer… It IS coming.3 points

We just had some reps from the Snohomish Co Sheriff’s department come to our last safety meeting at work to help give our front end staff more tools to deal with angry/disgruntled/threatening/drunk/high people that come through the doors as there has been a definite increase of that over the last year. Also we have noticed more people with zero patience, and a huge sense of entitlement. It’s crazy.3 points

Hard to believe that with SLP in northern Arkansas, we're still looking at rain here in Iowa, but I guess that's par for the course so far this winter. Just can't get a significant winter storm to materialize in Iowa so far.3 points

This is probably true. Then again, he has a meltdown every winter, so causality might be tough to establish.3 points

Wasn't the footage of the car the initial thing that connected him to the case? It sounds like they were looking at white Elantras all over Pullman/Moscow. They found his and looked back and saw that he had been pulled over a few months earlier and given his cell number to police. They then found that his cell phone had been pinged at the murder scene a number of different times and went from there.3 points
-
It explains why he went back to the scene later. Probably realized he had dropped it and tried to find it somewhere. But they have to have something bigger we don’t know about yet that connected him to the case.3 points

Mild sunny morning. You can always count on January to have days that feel like a nice late April type morning.3 points

Can you imagine your response if you knew you were innocent and were framed for a horrific mass murder? This guy has been completely calm since his arrest. Even smiling in court yesterday. I would imagine you or I would be frantic and screaming that we are innocent. This appears to be a game to him. He is detached from reality.3 points

@ClintonThe Euro Weeklies from last night are dialing in on the LRC's more notable storms/active SW Flow late JAN pattern and early FEB. I'm not even going to post the FEB snow maps because they are just freakin' ridiculously snowy. Another Back-Loaded Winter??? For many on here that may be the outcome (including MBY), Yes, but for those up north its going to be #endlesswinter well into Spring. I just really hope that things begin to line up and the models start to digest the teleconnections or mother nature flips the switch on us! @sumweatherdude, was it you or someone else who posted the Euro Weeklies 10mb zonal winds? Anyway, the PV guru @judahcohen says his AI learning machine is showing a SSW event late JAN into FEB and coincides with the Euro Weeklies run last night. I have learned from him that prior to a major disruption, it tends to warm up across the CONUS so we can very well be going through this stretch right now. In similar fashion, the CFSv2 weeklies are in agreement as well that a strong SW Flow pattern evolves...I almost certain that @hawkstwelvewill cash in on another Big Dog later this month and into the MSP region. I originally thought the pattern would press farther south by this time in JAN but that obviously is not happening.3 points

The good news with this torch is the mountains have managed to stay snowy with the offshore flow. Hasn’t been any significant melting at the ski areas in a very long time.3 points

If we know the answer to why, then I don't think we have to deal with so many mass murders here in the US. Him using a knife to stab 4 innocent people is no different than a mass shooting. My guess is, the best defense they have is probably insanity. To me he has those crazy eyes man. Only thing more interesting to me with this trial is to find the motives. If I had to guess, he got rejected by one of these women and got pissed. Or the person that he liked has a BF.. he was also killed. We do have a lawyer on this forums, so would love to hear his input if he's willing to share.2 points

I think it has been a month for me since I saw the sun shining. Crazy! just a couple of days ago, I saw a small glimpse of the sun peeking and I literally ran to the window, so that I can capture some vitamin D on me. You must be going nuts after all that sunshine you have encountered back in AZ .2 points
