Local Grid has ticked up my snow totals to 6-11"!

 

Latest HRRR....0.3 - 0.4 qpf thru 3:00am into Cook/DuPage...continues to snow past this...temps in the low 20's and gusty winds will be quite a scene later tonight.  Might have to pull an all nighter.

 

Going to head out in a bit and do some errands and crush leg-day at the gym!

2 miles north of ORD...the lake is approx 12 miles due east...

Have ~8.5". Things have slowed down a bit,but I suspect more will move in later.

This storm stunk just like the stench on a monkey and the rest of the winter. As my old mentor friend Jonesey said, we'll get what we get...well screw that!  Congrats to those getting a good total out of this,,, been the same place all year.  Ready for 90s and humidity I suppose, that's what the media wants us to have so they'll keep preaching about it until it comes true.

I just measured 11.5" (not official by any means).

You can tell the colder 850's are sliding down the lake near Sheboygan.  The radar imagery is showing more instability.

Convergence is building up that way and should be here later tonight. My snow has settled down to 3"...would be awesome to get another 8"+. I've noticed that the HRRR is picking up on a secondary band later tomorrow afternoon that hits NE IL.

 

Visibility already dropped in these scattered snow showers in N Cook. Heading into DuPage shortly.

It's pretty crazy to see LES bands coming off of Lake Huron while crossing over the entire state of MI and then re-energizing over LM.  I don't think I have seen something like that before.

Supposed to form right around midnight through the early morning...you should be getting some decent snow now.  How is it?

It's coming down at a nice rate, but not the 2 inch per hour rate that the lake effect snow warning said was possible.
