I had been pretty busy recently and had tuned out the weather. Had no idea anything interesting was in the cards for today. 

Dumping big flakes here and starting to coat non road surfaces. Temp 33.8F. These kind of surprises are awesome.

Hi all, been a while! Wasn't going to say anything because I thought it would be just a bit of snow and mostly mix, but it's been dumping snow here now for a little over an hour and accumulating nicely on trees, roofs, grass. Such a lovely surprise!

I was just up at the parking area. They are packed! 5 years ago no people used that area for the most part. Not like now anyway. I recognize that area.

Anyway nice to get a little something even if it’s not gonna last what do you think too bad the Hawks lost last weekend but it was still a good season hopefully the next round of blocking turns out good too nice that it might set up a little earlier than in 2006 since sun angles are on the rise have a good Saturday

The rain has won and up to 34 degrees. The big flakes were nice while they lasted.

Yea weird and it’s snowing in Kent/Auburn valley per reports online. Not often you see snow in valley areas and rain in the foothills here.

FWIW... EPS and control run also shifting west.  The control run goes to a massive GOA trough after day 10.

Here is run-to-run change on the EPS in the long range...

Might be some serious terrain bleed there... because the 500mb pattern on the control run could not be more different than its 00Z run.
