It's a point of discussion with NWS FSD over here - which track to believe. I've been riding with the Euro more than usual lately as the GFS seems to be flailing worse than usual and the NWS seems to be thinking the same. The Canadian has remained a nice middle ground and it's showing about 16 inches. For reference, FSD's highest daily snowfall is 18.1 inches on 3/10/56. 12Z GFS shifted south. And the 06Z ECMWF was completely insane for your area... the biggest snowstorm of your life? snow_wizard
For the people who are hung up on the SSW... We really don't need it to flip the pattern. The current and forecasted AO is already minus. The first thing an SSW often does is flip the AO from plus to minus. That having been said an SSW could be enough to shake up the pattern in this case, but the models are showing that at mid month regardless. I've learned many times to never put your eggs in one basket in this game. 1 Quote Death To Warm Anomalies!
