“He would ask about the loyalty issues and about how, when I pointed out to him the German generals as a group were not loyal to him, and in fact tried to assassinate him a few times, and he didn’t know that,” Kelly said. “He truly believed, when he brought us generals in, that we would be loyal — that we would do anything he wanted us to do."

Kelly also said that Trump privately peddled Kremlin talking points about NATO and even blamed the Western alliance for supposedly forcing Russian President Vladimir Putin to act aggressively militarily.

“He thought Putin was an OK guy and Kim was an OK guy — that we had pushed North Korea into a corner,” said Kelly. “To him, it was like we were goading these guys. ‘If we didn’t have NATO, then Putin wouldn’t be doing these things.’”

Kelly also speculated that Trump liked dictators because they gave off the impression of being "tough," which was how he saw himself.

"He’s not a tough guy by any means, but in fact quite the opposite,” Kelly said. “But that’s how he envisions himself.”

I've always thought the missing piece in the full trump/next gen conservative takeover is his lack of oratory skill.  Would also help if he was younger.  Watch out if whoever replaces trump are both those things.

I think that it’s both, and the two aspects of brokenness reinforce each other.

They listened to reason when confronted by the Allies, but only after the Allies bombed their cities into rubble, conquered Germany, occupied it, and divided it between themselves.

But on another note, I really should stop using “American Christian Fascists.” It’s common left lingo, and does explain things, but it also ties Christianity to fascism, and while conservative evangelical Christianity does provide significant ideological motivation for American fascism, conservative evangelical Christianity is merely one flavor among many of Christianity, and most Christians are not fascists (and even not all conservative evalgelicals are; there is a Never Trumper contingent amongst them, see for example David French). Yet the above term is likely to provoke confusion about that. It’s yet another example of how the Left sucks at rhetoric.

“Trump fascists” would be a better label, as it avoids this sort of confusion. Think I will use it going forward.

As Rubus said, it's both sides. Neither side nominated the pinnacle of their party. At least, not the most sane/qualified/under-80 persons within their respective parties.

I know it's easy (especially for you) to just point at the MAGA side and talk about how ridiculous they are. Which I agree, to a certain extent. But if you want to be perceived in any objective manner it's important to give equal scrutiny to the other side because they aren't really running like a well-oiled machine either.

What makes a conservative Christian a fascist? Voting against abortion or making people using restrooms of their biological sex rather than their gender identity?

You gotta remember that Jesus said some people would be offended by the Gospel and that it would stir up division in some families. John 14:6 is definitely not politically correct and Jesus was not politically correct for His time either. That's why He was crucified.

It demonstrates a level of immaturity and/or simple antagonistic stupidity that is a large part of the national dialogue and our problem.   

People in general need to settle the ‘Fock’’ down and moderate both their speech and the attitudes toward one another.   
The national dialogue needs to “do unto others” a great deal more, frankly.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter. Every crime committed by an illegal alien is a preventable crime. And by definition every illegal immigrant is a criminal. But you also choose to ignore the fact much of the crime and terror they perpetrate goes unreported because it is against women and children in their own community or people who fear speaking out due to fear of retribution. Also is they can just slip back to their country of origin after committing a crime they are never arrested.

I'm not sure if a Republican will finally win Minnesota, but holy sh!t, the DFL party here is trying so hard to make that happen by suddenly pretending we're even farther left than California.

Add "proposing a bill to prosecute people as juveniles until 21" to the list, which includes "making a ceasefire in Gaza the NUMBER ONE TOPIC in city council meetings", "becoming a sanctuary state", "virtue signaling gun legislation to ban things that are already banned", "puberty blockers at 12 years old without parental consent", and "defunding the police". 

If the nominee weren't Trump (thanks again, MAGAs!), I'd be 100% sure we'd see a Republican victory in Minnesota come November with the DFL party failing to stay in their lane here. I love many things about Minnesota, but the politics here are an absolute joke.
