Kayla
Sounds like Bozeman Airport picked up 10" as well last night on top of 3-4" yesterday which brings their 24 hour snowfall total to 13-14" which is really impressive for them! Looks like Great Falls dropped down to -9F this morning tying 2003 daily record for the date. Should be a lot of below zero readings over the next few mornings with a substantial snowpack and a decently cold airmass for the season. Kayla
11/-9 there today for a nice -37 departure. Looks like Bozeman MSU picked up an official 11.6" today. Really impressive. The 11.6" of snowfall at Bozeman yesterday was a new daily record for the date (no big surprise there!) and a new snow depth record of 10" for November 4th was also broken. Even more impressive, 20.1" of snow has fallen in just the first 4 days of the month with more on the way tonight/tomorrow. I believe this makes it the snowiest start to November on record here. 1 Quote Cold Season 2023/24: Total snowfall: 26" Highest daily snowfall: 5" Deepest snow depth: 12" Coldest daily high: -20ºF Coldest daily low: -42ºF Number of subzero days: 5 Personal Weather Station on Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMTBOZEM152#history

Kayla
Cold one out there today! Dropped down to 6F this morning with moderate snow falling. Very very dry 2" fell overnight and it's still snowing lightly. Brings my season total up to 35" and already 23" this month. Roads are really bad out there as they didn't get the snow cleaned up well after the last big storm and now it is all frozen rock hard with another 2-3" on top of the ice. Very chilly day on tap in the mid teens today then it's looking pretty likely I'll see my first below zero reading tonight. Slow warm up and drying trend begins tomorrow lasting through early next week besides for a few snow showers late in the week. By early next week it's looking like a return to a similar pattern that we have had over the past week. Cold and snowy. 1 Quote Cold Season 2023/24: Total snowfall: 26" Highest daily snowfall: 5" Deepest snow depth: 12" Coldest daily high: -20ºF Coldest daily low: -42ºF Number of subzero days: 5 Personal Weather Station on Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMTBOZEM152#history

Kayla
Some pretty impressive records have been broken today at the Bozeman Airport (BZN). BZN recorded 14" snow depth this morning which is the highest snow depth since February 1975 and it is the highest November snow depth on record now. BZN also dropped down to -12F this morning setting a new daily minimum record. Easily besting 2003's -4F on the day. The snow depth is really quite impressive for this early in the year due to the Airports poor location in the Valley. BZN sits in the lowest portion of the valley and also records some of the lowest yearly precip amounts in the area due to precip shadowing from the Rockies. 2 Quote Cold Season 2023/24: Total snowfall: 26" Highest daily snowfall: 5" Deepest snow depth: 12" Coldest daily high: -20ºF Coldest daily low: -42ºF Number of subzero days: 5 Personal Weather Station on Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMTBOZEM152#history

Yeah, you can always check my weather station in my signature as well. If you've noticed lately though that the airport has actually been quite a bit colder than my location (such as tonight) as the airport does a lot better in these ridgy setups as they sit below the inversion and aren't quite as susceptible to the westerlies (Chinook wind) as I am. You know how it is living at elevation... Cooler in the summer and during winter storms but warmer in inversion setups and tougher to decouple at night. Front Ranger
A balmy 72 for a high today. DEN is running slightly below normal for the month, but that's about to change, with plenty of warm days ahead over the next week.
