Jesse
Just another map showing the never ending warm anomalies in the PNW. The lack of rain and active weather has been the biggest issue lately. It has actually been coolish here for about a week.

I think the 1st was one of the warmest November days in history, in terms of average temp at PDX (68/59 spread). A +14 anomaly for the calendar day. That will leave its mark on the averages for awhile.
Kayla
Snow has begun here out ahead of the strong cold front with temps still in the mid 30's. Looks like the snowfall should become quite heavy by late this morning with plummeting temps. North winds will also pick up with the front causing quite a bit of blowing and drifting snow. 4-6" of snowfall by tonight is looking like a good forecast at this point. Kayla
The Great Falls NWS discussions are usually pretty boring here but I found this discussion at least somewhat interesting. For the remainder of the work week it appears that an El Ninopattern is finally beginning to emerge across the western USA.Models develop a broad upper level trough with the bulk of energyand moisture expected to be well south of Montana Wednesdaythrough Friday. During this time the Great Falls CWA should remaincool, breezy, and somewhat unsettled as heavy precipitation takesaim at coastal California and Oregon.Forecast for this weekend and early next week is currently verylow confidence as medium/long range models differ significantly insolutions. The overall trend is for cooler, possibly cold to verycold and unsettled conditions. The ECMWF model is much wetter thanthe GFS/CMC models and suggests that several (or more) inches ofsnow is possible for central Montana Friday night through Sunday. For now have limited the forecast to chance PoPs and we`ll see howmodels evolve over the coming days before getting too excitedabout a significant storm. mpj Quote Cold Season 2023/24: Total snowfall: 26" Highest daily snowfall: 5" Deepest snow depth: 12" Coldest daily high: -20ºF Coldest daily low: -42ºF Number of subzero days: 5 Personal Weather Station on Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMTBOZEM152#history

Kayla
Models are still all over the place for this weekends storm so I'm still not even going to guess on snow amounts but it does look likely that I'll at least see a few inches of snow headed into the cold. Interestingly, even with this very El Niño type pattern Bozeman (and my house) has had measurable snow on the ground since November 6th. With more snow in the forecast and cold temps setting up as we head into December it's very possible that we won't see bare ground until sometime in March.
