jaster220
GRR thinks cold is coming, tho models seem to have backed off quite a bit on the real-deal cold blast. High pressure moves in Thursday for a nice Thanksgiving Dayweather-wise. jaster220
I agree. My highs are nowhere near as cold. Tbh, I never look out beyond my 5 day unless it's summer and I have a trip planned that is wx dependent. Seeing as Tom's been keeping quiet wrt any arctic blasts, I take that to mean it's kinda iffy. I know there is an SSW underway, but I don't think it's playing out quite the same as the typical mid-winter version does. Seems to bopping around the N Hemisphere not really settling in any one place. So chances are, we will continue with a bit of a polar coaster ride vs going into the deep freezer. Which I'm ok with for the record. 1 Quote Winter 2023-24 Snow Total = 53.1" (90% Normal Season) Largest Storm: 12" (1/12-13) Oct: 0.1 Nov: 2.9 Dec: 7.5 Jan: 31.7 Feb: 6.0 Mar: 4.3 Apr: 0.1 Avg = 59.2" (Harrison): 2023-24 = 53.1" Avg = 45.0" (KDTW): 2022-23 = 33.5" 2021-22 = 35.6" Avg = 49.7" (KRMY): 2020-21 = 36.2" 2019-20 = 48.0" 2018-19 = 56.1" 2017-18 = 68.3" 2016-17 = 52" 2015-16 = 57.4" 2014-15 = 55.3" 2013-14 = 100.6" (coldest & snowiest in the modern record!) 2012-13 = 47.2" 2011-12 = 43.7" Legit Blizzards (high winds and dbl digit snows): Feb 2011, Dec 2009, Jan 2005, Dec 2000, Jan 1999, Mar 1998, Nov 1989, Jan 1982, Jan 1978, Jan 1977, Apr 1975, Mar 1973, Jan 1967, Feb 1965, Jan 1918

jaster220
How odd is this to see this much of the country being BN. Yeah, not sure I've ever seen even a short range map like that - all blues/grey. That's pretty wild. OmahaSnowFan
After this week’s storminess, the 0Z GFS quiets things down for most of the first 11 days of December. Also noticed temp anomalies show above average temps for here for about 10/16 days. I prefer to keep away the real cold especially if there’s no snow on the ground.
GDR
Yeah I’d rather have sunny and warm! This pattern looks like every other year around here. Just wait two more weeks. Even Tom must be disappointed because he hasn’t been around much!
Stormy
I’ld rather have this milder active weather than the boring dry cold stuff we had here for the first half of November. My brother was finally combining soybeans yesterday. He also does custom harvesting so he did other people’s first. Yields are good, but the beans still are a tad on the moist side. We’re really thankful it’s staying mostly rain with the next two systems!

St Paul Storm
This is tonight’s and this weekend’s storms combined. But look at the similarities on every single GEFS member. The ensembles are much more enthusiastic than the GFS op run about the Saturday storm.
Andie
Texas and Oklahoma will have a front move in Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will be very very wet. That's creates a travel danger for many including yours truly. I have to drive up to the Red River Thursday and back. I absolutely hate driving in all that rain. It's overcast, but we will see a high of 78 today before the front moves through and mid 50's tomorrow. 2 Quote Before You Diagnose Yourself With Depression or Low Self-Esteem,...First Make Sure You Are Not In Fact, Just Surrounded By A$$holes. “If I owned Texas and Hell, I would rent out Texas and live in Hell.” Gen. It feels great outside to do just about any activity. So many people are taking advantage of this weather in putting up their Christmas lights and etc.. Great opportunity b4 the cold and snow arrives eventually. 3 Quote Snowfall for Winter 2023 -24 for Metro Detroit Area Oct 2023: 0.2" AN Nov 2023: 2.2" AN Dec 2023: 0.5" BN Insane!
