People might be burned out over all the hype of last round. Really didn’t live up to what could have happened. Especially those poor folks in PDX.

I suppose, but some areas did really well.  Even I had some decent stuff by recent January standards.

Solid cold shot on the ECMWF at day 8 and 9.  Nice improvement over previous runs once again.

The Euro even has snowfall over the ocean on this run.  This is getting interesting.

not even, looks pretty much confined to some cz stuff, with possible snow in the air elsewhere.

Yeah, if anything I think our shot at something good February would be a backdoor blast of some sort. I remember seeing some EPS maps with a retrogression signal and whatnot, so who knows.

The coming colder weather.

You mean moderate cold to normal weather!? Gripping! People should be piling in at any moment to express their excitement for the unusual and epic event on our door step that is 7 to 10 days away...    :D

Make that -11 on the 850s.  I like where this is going.  Here is the snow that falls going into the cold.

I could care less whether people think this is worth getting excted about or not, because it is.  I refuse to get into the glum mindset that so many people insist on.

I have! Not seeing much to get excited about looks less promising than the last event. Bring on a 1/4 inch of snow and a couple days of cold. I will get excited when it shows something in a believable range of 3 days or less. :)

The ECMWF is much colder in every possible way for the 7 to 10 day period.

ECMWF shows low 40s on Sunday... near 40 on Monday... and in the mid to upper 30s on Monday in the Seattle area.

The SW part of King County and Pierce County get shadowed.    Which happens frequently in this type of situation.     So even if the ECMWF verified... you might not get much snow.    Of course details can change.

The ECMWF spits out a high of 35 and a low of 22 for SEA on Feb 4.  February looks to be on a roll.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

THIS is exactly what I was seeing and so normal meandering useless cold. People will barely notice it.

Interestingly... the GFS lead the way with the cold last time and the ECMWF finally got on board.

The GFS shows nothing much at all this time... it will be interesting to see if the ECMWF trends in that direction now.

Lol ... true! I am just commenting to snowwiz why people are not in here thrilled. Pretty run of the mill. Just sayin... and no snow for most. Might as well be split flow IMHO.

Bit burned out by earlier this month, tbh.
