Very interesting information. My gut feeling was that Prune Hill probably underperforms for its elevation during onshore flow due to how exposed it is to southerly flow. I'm kind of biased towards things either along the eastern slopes of the coast range or on the west end of the cascades since they just resist the southerlies better. Here on the west side, we have Chehalem Ridge which peaks at 1600ft+ but it doesn't do nearly as well as similar elevation in the coast range since it is pretty exposed. It has a harder time holding onto its cold air. With all that said, I think Prune Hill might be hard to beat if you also want a nice neighborhood, good schools and access to amenities along with some elevation. I'll have to take a drive up to some of the higher elevation places north of Washougal and see if that drive is easy enough to consider those areas. I haven't ever experienced acreage life (like Tim in North Bend) but that does seem like a pretty nice way of experiencing our climate if you can make it fit in with your job and lifestyle. I'm just not sure if those places will be annoying on the other 350 days as you said. I've been talking about moving to SW WA for sometime but am finally able to make it actually happen. Will probably still take me a while to do the research and find the right place though.
