I feel like this winter is going to be the kick in the pants that causes many of us to change locations. In that sense it’s been a good winter

I'm obviously not a professional, but I find NWS PDX's use of the NBM to justify not having a wind advisory up for the valley sorta strange. Not that I think we'll have a big windstorm or something, but if models are to be believed there's a genuine chance of 50-60 mph gusts for a bit.

It’s not always about absolute intensity and placement but about pressure gradient.

Would love to live there as well.
