@snow_wizard here is enhanced true color image now... you can see the areas to your south and north at sunset have now merged. You have to squint because low clouds don't show up real well after dark but you can make out the clouds over the entire area now.

Hmm let's see: The last 15 years the WV has had something good after the 20th in 5 of them (2012, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023), 2 of them being after March 1. Odds go down but not out. Off recency bias that's 33%. None were regional events though so it may be more of a right place right time type of thing.

Not out of nowhere... I checked the visible satellite many times today. There was an area of clouds that moved SW from the Cascades (between Hwy 2 and I-90) starting early afternoon. It moved in here around 4 p.m. and was continuing to spread west towards Bellevue and south towards your area when it got dark. This was at 3:30... just took screenshot of 4-hour loop which still includes daylight hours. It was slowly moving your way at that time.
