LOLz, was just thinking that the NAM when in range will show a 989 mb low....then this

 

Unfortunately, the stronger the LP the more you will fight the warm lake winds coming inland further. Terrible trade-offs this early in the season.

I posted before. I really believe your region has serious cross-hairs on it's back this winter. How are you compared to normal?

0z ICON and earlier 18z GFS both depicting what would be verbatim some pretty intense thump-transition snows in SWMI. Those deep blues are normally reserved for the EC weenies. I got about 4 hrs worth in Nov of '11. Last time for mby to experience such.

Heavy wet paste job per the GFS snow map, eh? Time for that to change for the better. liking the strength trends tonight for sure

Yeah, and much much better structure than it had at 12z. Track/strength pieces seem to be coming together at just the right range for those of us further east in the sub. Not saying those out west get nada, but trends are not NW as many have called for based on past experiences and climo

Yup

 

Still a lot of time for things to change and we’ll still see some shifts north/south but seems like good consensus on a strengthening low pressure going somewhere near northern IN

Northern stream blocks this storm from coming northeast outbof KC. Thats what is really holding it back from crushing us

 

the exact thing I need over here and has been lacking. Whenever we've had a split-flow phase situation in recent memory, the N stream dominated and sucked the S wave north. Finally seem to have a new and unique pattern in play and the cold wants to show up to the party as well for once. Good times

UKie takes track from hr 72 (998MB)  from near COL/KAN border to near INDY at hr 96.(1005MB) Slightly further N I believe from 12Z. I would expect the same from the EURO

That'd be a new WEAK trend if so. Most models been on the opposite bench and keeping it strong east or even deepening it. I'd rather have the IND to CLE track and say 999 mb vs a 993 over my head.
