We'll see. (image) Took almost six years for me to receive my first downvote on here. I thought it would end up happening in Off Topic instead, where the politics are discussed.
Pn1ct0g3n
Better a light but prolonged rain than a gully washer that causes floods and mudslides, if the rainfall totals can still get there.
Reg
Last rain here was five hours ago. Doppler radar indicating a significant rain shadow being cast by the Santa Ana Mountains, starving us of any precipitation for the moment. Reg
NWS finally downgraded precipitation projections for all of us east of Los Angeles. A tiny fraction of what was previously forecasted. They removed all flood watch/warnings for San Diego County as well.
Reg
Last measurable rain here was about 10 hours ago. This reminds me of the October 2009 storm, where L.A. got 2" from Typhoon Melor remnants, while my total in Murrieta was a whopping 0.06". That event still takes #1 as the biggest disappointment/flop I've ever witnessed here.

Pn1ct0g3n
The pond in Manhattan Beach’s Polliwog Park has swollen to over 2x its normal size. For once it’s not a flop here. It rained all night and woke me up a few times from the noise. (Yes, the pond is a storm water basin so it gets runoff from the whole local watershed)

The snow and almost alpine environment on Mt. Pinos is important for the Hollywood film industry if they ever want to make a cheapo remake of The Sound of Music. Of course, the marine layer and misty Manhattan Beach are important if ever a good remake of The Fog is done. The first remake of the film was a flop cause the filming was in British Columbia, not California as the original.
