FarmerRick
I'll take any moisture we can get in the Omaha area.No real snowcover here other than the few leftover drifts from the last 8-9" that we got a few weeks ago. There are cracks in my yard so big I can stick my hand down in them. I am more than sick of these sub zero temps though...

jaster220
I dunno about that, Thursday night looks bitter cold as well. Some really cold low temps last night. WI/MI seems to have been the epicenter! Had -15*F here in Marshall this morning. I don't keep a daily log of such lows because normally we don't get anywhere close to -15 or below. But last winter and this winter we sure have been. Had -23*F Friday morning and I'm pretty sure that's a record for here or really, really close to it. Small town, so the nearest official records are KBTL about 12 miles west. I remember those -35*F (and COLDER) when I worked up in Grayling back in 1994. That's just rediculous for OH to have hit that cold too! 1 Quote Winter 2023-24 Snow Total = 53.1" (90% Normal Season) Largest Storm: 12" (1/12-13) Oct: 0.1 Nov: 2.9 Dec: 7.5 Jan: 31.7 Feb: 6.0 Mar: 4.3 Apr: 0.1 Avg = 59.2" (Harrison): 2023-24 = 53.1" Avg = 45.0" (KDTW): 2022-23 = 33.5" 2021-22 = 35.6" Avg = 49.7" (KRMY): 2020-21 = 36.2" 2019-20 = 48.0" 2018-19 = 56.1" 2017-18 = 68.3" 2016-17 = 52" 2015-16 = 57.4" 2014-15 = 55.3" 2013-14 = 100.6" (coldest & snowiest in the modern record!) 2012-13 = 47.2" 2011-12 = 43.7" Legit Blizzards (high winds and dbl digit snows): Feb 2011, Dec 2009, Jan 2005, Dec 2000, Jan 1999, Mar 1998, Nov 1989, Jan 1982, Jan 1978, Jan 1977, Apr 1975, Mar 1973, Jan 1967, Feb 1965, Jan 1918

Snowshoe
Interesting facts about the sustained cold of February. I was shocked to find these out quite frankly. 1st February without a 28 degree temperature at Duluth Every February, since weather records began at Duluth in 1875, has recorded a high temperature of at least 28 degrees for the entire month. February 2015 will probably not achieve this feat as the highest temperature so far this month is 27 degrees reported on the 9th.http://www.crh.noaa.gov/news/display_cmsstory.php?wfo=dlh&storyid=106969&source=0 @Interesting record potential: There has never been a February in Wausau when the temp has NOT reached 32. Niko
My current snowpack is so old, that you cannot shovel it at all. You need a bulldozer to break it down and clean it up. Another subzero night tomorrow night! I lost count on how many we had so far this winter. I'm thinking more than last year, if you can believe that. Also, last year my coldest temp was -13F. This year, it got down to -15F. So, it has been a colder winter this year than last year.
