I say we do a half-way compromise between PDT and PST and keep it that way forever. That way the sunset would never be any earlier than 5:12 PM and the sunrise would never be any later than 7:26 AM. 4:42 PM for the sunset is lame and pathetic. 

Also remember the solar noon shifts 30 minutes forward between now and February, so not even nature can keep a consistent time.
