My friend left California because of the Democrats and my mom wants to leave the country because she says it's becoming like Czechoslovakia when she left there. She cannot understand why so many young people here want socialism today. Our freedom of religion is under threat.

Most Republicans consider the Democrats to be a threat to democracy and most Democrats consider the Republicans to be a threat to democracy. We're extremely polarized.

Newspeak is just like political correctness. It limits freedom of speech due to stupid people who get their feelings hurt way too easily. Freedom of speech is one of the number one things that made America a free country. "Ladies and gentlemen" is no longer considered polite. You could hurt the feelings of some non-binary person. 

Ministry of Love was actually a bad thing. In the book, it enforces loyalty to Big Brother through fear, buttressed through a massive apparatus of security and repression, as well as systematic brainwashing. Today you must be loyal to the ideas of the woke theocracy and their concept of "social justice" (which is antithetical to the Biblical idea of justice) or you can be fired from your job. The George Floyd riots were called the Summer of Love, but they destroyed many businesses, killed more people than January 6, and cost billions of dollars in damage.

Ministry of Truth. Government is not supposed to determine the truth. That leads to censorship, also common in totalitarian countries. Also I know a person who needed a heart transplant after the second COVID shot. He was young and completely healthy.

It's the leftists who are shutting down adoption agencies who are against same-sex couples adopting children. They also want to shut down the pregnancy resource centers.
