Pn1ct0g3n
Pacific pushing back hard — foggy this morning and already blowing at 8-10mph
Anti Marine Layer
Sunny here. Hoping for more monsoon activity this summer.
Pn1ct0g3n
The overcast is retreating but man, that breeze is icy. Very shallow—only the beaches are feeling it. Valleys are already well into the 90s today. Ocean is about where it should be for late June at least locally — still cool enough to create some mondo microclimates.
Anti Marine Layer
Climate change hypocrisy. Air conditioning humming away all day long at the school next to us even though it's absolutely useless with no students or teachers there. I'm gonna have to protest at the principal's office. I will bring my Greta pictures and tell them they are racists for not adhering to the dogma of leftism.
Pn1ct0g3n
Winnetka, infamous valley hotspot, has hit the century mark today! We ended up getting good clearing after all here at the coast. I imagine beaches will be crowded.
Reg
Some cumulus over the mountains this afternoon, but nothing compared to yesterday. Warmer today overall, been sitting at 100F for two hours now.
Reg
5 PM and still 100F, has not even begun to cool off. Four hours now of this. 1

Pn1ct0g3n
Plenty of gunk out there and the northwest flow is back. If this persists, it’ll start to look like parts of 2020 and 2021 again. Already seeing that all too familiar fog lurking nearby.
Pn1ct0g3n
Some OC and northern SD county beaches are spared, but it’s pretty solid from there on up and more is flowing in.
Anti Marine Layer
Marine layer still recovering from the monsoon. Let's hope the NW flow does not last too long.
Pn1ct0g3n
Next monsoon pulse seems like it’s starting to erode the southern ends of the cloud deck. Keep it up.
Pn1ct0g3n
Still dense fog nearby. 72 is likely the high unless it pulls back from my area. South of PV has cleared out but not here yet. In classic 2020s fashion it hung out to the west all morning before charging in like the barbarian hordes as soon as the sea breeze kicked in. Pn1ct0g3n
When a heatwave brings only fog to the beaches, I hop in my car and drive 10 minutes inland for that sweet relief. Now is as good a time as ever to see that Jurassic World Dominion… edit: the South Bay has finally cleared. If you wanna pick and choose your climate today’s the day. Drive Highway 10–in an hour you can go from 71 at Santa Monica Pier to 96 in Covina. Some valleys got into the triple digit and I think some beaches didn’t even get to 70! Pn1ct0g3n
Slight cooling trend inland by next week…with a concomitant warming trend for the beaches. Funny how that works.

Reg
While it was hotter here today, the heat didn't stick around very stubbornly late into the evening like yesterday. Cooling off a little more quickly this evening.
Pn1ct0g3n
Closer to the water it’s dropping like a rock compared to yesterday. Already down to 61 here and the sun is barely down. Dewpoints are low and it feels like the SSTs may have already dropped quite a bit. It could dip into the 50s tonight, rather chilly for late June. Pn1ct0g3n
Strong inversion too, and it seems a hair deeper than yesterday as inland areas aren’t heating up quite as fast. Still pretty common conditions when the inland areas heat up to August like temperatures before the sea catches up.

Anti Marine Layer
We are approaching solar noon with the sun angle about 0.07 degrees lower than it was last Tuesday.
