Pn1ct0g3n
Talk about one extreme to the other. If this is how our fall starts, I hope winter can bring some drought busters.

It is really beginning to feel like fall here in Socal. I am sure it will get warm to hot again toward the end of the month, but I would really be surprised if it is as hot and muggy as it was last week. More likely it will be a drier heat (not Santa Ana wind dry), so the nights would probably not be nearly as warm as those last week.

Pn1ct0g3n
Yup. And with it, first gloomy morning in about a month. Plus, the rain could last through Tuesday if the computer models pan out, but you know what they say about cutoff lows.
Anti Marine Layer
We're coming close to the day when the shadow of the tip of a sundial will follow a straight line throughout the day. Pn1ct0g3n
Looking kinda ominous to our north. However from about VC on east they’ve held firm on little, if any, rain to take the edge off our fire risk.

Pn1ct0g3n
All this eddying has done a lot to keep the ocean temps from plummeting locally—it still has to stand a few more days of a passing storm. Why is it raining in September? Typhoon Merbok’s remnants (which hit Alaska) may be contributing by gouging an unseasonably deep trough into the jet stream: https://blog.weatherflow.com/west-coast-wind-blog-teleconnection-a-quarter-of-the-world-away-typhoon-merbok-triggers-an-unusual-september-rain-event-for-san-francisco/
