I guess that’d be a good time to throw you a forum retirement party.

The rain shadow up here over the past week has been significantly stronger than any model forecast. I've picked up just under 1" of rain in the past week which is lower than even the driest forecast from the GFS. The Euro has been doing particularly poorly, predicting anywhere from 3-4" by today. Even last night's run on the Euro predicted I'd pick up over 1" overnight and I saw basically nothing. Makes me really question any forecasts for my location I see on it.

I'll bet this is all to do with Hunga Tonga. Just think if that eruption hadn't been underwater. We would have probably seen a solid global cooling the last couple of years. Very bad luck. We haven't had a good global cooling eruption in decades. This La Nina is certainly a huge outlier in how late it finally got it's act together. Everything is balls to the wall Nina right now as far as indices are concerned.

The end of the EPS has some potential. Looks like the AL energy is starting to bleed back into the NW Pacific. We just need one of those short wave ridges over the Pacific to sneak under the AL instead of progressing it every time.
