Offshore flow has returned again

I guess given how f...ed up everything is this season. Looking at the usual triggers for something good here much of Feb would appear to be screwed. I keep thinking about how mystified everyone was by the Atlantic hurricane season. It did deliver in the end though.

This likely isn't our winter. The theme continues to be the models teasing us in the clown range only to revert back to the +TNH/+PNA solutions a few days later. Although I do wonder if the ongoing Siberian warming is throwing the models into chaos right now. Since the potential pattern change was projected to be around January 18th to the 20th and that timeframe is still well over 200+hrs away, there is still some hope for better model trends in the coming days. However, this winter could very easily bust for the PNW. At least the past three winters have been solid here.
