Reg must be enjoying the overcast skies.

I am, although I could not access this site for most of today until now for some reason.

I ended up with 0.20" from the rain this morning, which is wonderful given that it was more likely that we wouldn't see any measurable precipitation at all.

My personal weather station: Davis Instruments Vantage Pro 2

2019-2020 Season Total: 11.61" (as of 3/26/20)

2018-2019 Season Total: 15.84"

2017-2018 Season Total: 4.63"

2016-2017 Season Total: 15.18"

2015-2016 Season Total: 8.12"

2014-2015 Season Total: 10.09"

California Water Year/Rainy Season measuring period runs from July 1 to June 30.

Did some work that required the site be down. Should be good to go. Took it down when it was just a couple people on.

One month since Winter Solstice which means winter is about 1/3 over.

A month ago, we had sunrise: 6:51 AM, sunset: 4:46 PM

Today we have sunrise: 6:53 AM, sunset: 5:10 PM

So nice to gain all the daylight in the afternoons.

There was a year some decades ago where the majority of the season's rainfall fell in December, in Downtown L.A.

There was some drizzle and it's becoming beyond obvious now that the low clouds will not burn off.

Hope Reg gets to enjoy a long hike in the gloomy, cold, damp weather.

Unrelated to the current weather, but something interesting: I dug up the minute-by-minute data from my weather station during the night of December 30th-31st, 2014 when rain transitioned to full-blown snow a low elevations here inland. The snow stopped falling sometime after 4 AM, everything after that was just snow slowly melting into the tipping bucket.

My weather station at 3:42 AM on 12/31/14:

We had a great stretch of storms from late November until just after Christmas here in Socal, and the pattern abruptly shifted into a drier pattern since then. It is really starting to get boring now at what should be the wettest time of year for this area.
