Midwest & Great Lakes November 20-21st Snowstorm

A friend posted a pic of the 10" they have in S. Falls. Insane rates to get that much snow that quickly. She of course complained about the meteorologists being wrong. Tried to tell her that what she witnessed was very rare and no meteorologist would normally predict 3-4"/hr rates. They were only supposed to get 4-5" too

Local Met had this one pegged since Monday. North of 80 has played out well also! End of the month should be interesting!

Local met just posted that....updated it and increased amounts. Im in the 11" band!

Interested to see how this plays out. That local met has me 3-6" ; NWS has me 8-10"... Short range models seem to be agreeing with higher amounts, but we shall see here soon.

Milwaukee is sticking to their guns and saying 6-8". They believe the models are too far South. My call 2-3".

Went to Home depot and bought salt and 2 shovels. Now, let the fun begin.

 

Currently holding in the 6-10inch range for total storm accumulations.

The storm was called out Monday by Terry Swails locally. Timing was the only issuethat caught me off guard. Sorry that you were wrong?

From the models on here. NWS are calling for 5-8inches. TWC is calling for 5-8 also. I'd say that if it were up to me to decide, I would go with 4-8inches with locally higher amounts in spots.

This storm is going to break some daily snowfall records.  Pretty amazing to see that much snow in such an isolated spot.  I can't imagine if our temps were in the upper 20's for the duration of this event.  Snow totals would easily be pushing 12"+ for a large area.
