The 2019-present windless streak has to be a huge anomaly right? I never went this long without a proper 55mph+ blowdown as a kid.
Starting to notice dead branches just falling out of trees from time to time. Could be the normal amount but it feels like I'm noticing more and more. Maybe, it's nothing. Or perhaps, it's an ominous sign from mother nature of what will come crashing down on us the next time it decides to get windy again. Because I don't think we've had a proper branch culling in a good while, not even in the form of heavy snow, not since it came hard about a month after our last windstorm on 1/5/19.
I mean, don’t get me wrong, the Boxing Day snow event plus 3 straight nights of snow accumulations in an onshore flow showery airmass was pretty fuckkin impressive for this area.
But for here 2/25/19 is only beaten by Jan 1969 and Jan 1950 in terms of what it accomplished in a 72 hour period.
