Impressive high temp departure at SEA if it holds at 46 deg. Normal is 59-60. Didn’t really notice till I stepped out of the office to go home. Very breezy too and rainy. Really feels like a typ Nov/Dec day.

High is 47 so far, if it holds it will tie the record low maximum.

PDX is very overdue for a sub-50 high in April, hasn't happened since 2012. Historically it's not uncommon. I was thinking it could happen today but PDX didn't even record measurable precip this afternoon.

They came very close on 4/1 this year (would have tied a record MIN/MAX as well) but got robbed by a rogue 50 despite none of the five minute or hourly obs showing anything higher than 48-49.

There was a nice one in early May too. Dry clipper-like setup. I think PDX had a low of 37 which either tied or came close to a record. We took a road trip to Crater Lake around then and the weather was beautifully clear and cool I recall.

I had a very hard freeze late in May that year. 18th or19th. Hit 28.

Really our last year of reasonable late Spring/early summer weather. May it always have a place in our hearts as we embark on yet another unadulterated blowtorch of a warm season...

That trough in May 2013 around the 23rd (if my memory serves me) was pretty epic. I think it was the latest high of 50 or lower on record for PDX.

High of 41 at Silver Falls on the 23rd is tied for their coldest May maximum on record. I had wet snow falling for a couple hours that morning.

That thing was a beast. Maybe we can get some fun swings like that in May this year.

Kind of disappointed by the lack of rain today. The snow this morning was fun though.

There's someone on our Canadian forum who provides beach thoughts sometimes. I should get him to come here and post his beach thoughts. Maybe we will get some beach weather one day!

Wind and lots of rain (in lucky spots). This IS beach weather!

Ooops, we are getting way off topic. This thread is mostly for people with big houses to complain about the rain.

What do you consider big?

Hourly rain update...still raining! Driveway underwater again!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Nice evening. Dry and a little breezy with some decorative clouds. Falling through the 40s.

My poor dog has been locked inside all day. If I let him outside, he would get all muddy! It's still raining. Hoping the rain isn't so bad tomorrow so I can at least let him romp around a little.

He would probably have a blast getting muddy. :D

Seems hard to imagine what 15 inches of rain a year is like.

At least you guys up there in NW Washington/SW British Columbia have somewhere to go west of the Cascades to get away from the rain. Down here the highest point in the Coast Range is barely over 4,000 feet. You guys have Mt. Olympus which is almost at 8,000 feet. It looks like the rain shadow up there even let's some cactus grow in that region. That is pretty fascinating. Plus it's right near water. I need to visit that region sometime.

The weather isn't stopping your dog from having a good time...its you.

I let my dog out and he was promptly begging to come back inside.    Its not fit for man or beast out there tonight.    It is about as nasty as it ever gets here.
