Yeah major flooding can be a problem around here because once the river gets into that stage it gets high enough to close 203 north into Monroe and south into carnation. Once it gets to over 60 feet then every road out of Duvall closes and we become what they call an “island” because we can’t get out of Duvall.

We're pretty lucky that the mountain snowpack is pretty much non existant before this event. It would be a lot worse if there was snow. Puyallup not expected to flood.

I almost made the 25 minute drive out to Lake Cavanaugh as I’m sure they were getting snow but the day ended up being a bit too busy.

Most of the rivers shouldn’t flood too bad because there’s not really a snowpack built up yet. But The Snoqualmie river is pretty flood prone.

Flooding is always a big concern in my area this time of year. I feel pretty confident the Nooksack will stay in its banks this time around. But I've been fielding a lot of questions from anxious friends and family who have been reading things on Facebook. They're learning not to stress until I'm stressed; and if I'm stressed, start moving things up.

I do wish they'd invest in making the pedestrian street more of a woonerf-style, instead of it clearly having been a 2 way road through the heart for the last 40 years. Why pedestrianize it if you're not going to make it feel more pedestrian friendly? Just feels like I'm walking in a road when I'm there. Any ideas @Brian_in_Leavenworth

00z WRF 1.33km hi-res forecast some pretty strong wind gusts for the Willamette Valley overnight into early Saturday morning. If this is correct gusts 35-45mph+ are expected with the highest gusts probably just south of PDX. This looks to peak 3-6 AM.
