Air quality looks pretty good to me in that pic. Saddleback is clearly visible in the distance!

While nothing compared to decades ago in Los Angeles, smog and general air pollution are still a serious issue as noted by the Environmental Protection Agency as well as local Southern California air quality monitoring boards even today. Still rated as among the worst air quality in the US consistently in 2022, along with Bakersfield and Fresno. I took these pictures in Downtown Los Angeles, from Los Angeles City Hall specifically, in September 2011. The poor air quality was quite noticeable that day.
