@Front Ranger says we have nothing to worry about, the pattern will naturally shift cold and deliver snow. We’ll be skiing any day now. Those 6 inches of snow that have fallen at Summit West this year will turn into 300 in no time!

Currently 41, rain and a little breezy. Going on 29 hours with no electricity. Current ECD is 10pm tonight. Let's hope this ECD holds. Last ECD slid 24 hours.

Tbh, it was awesome just being outside yesterday. I haven't felt that mild air since late November. I do think we will have some snowpack remaining after today's rain, although, very little, but some white gold could still be around. Don't forget, we are also getting a changeover from rain to snow, which could lead to a white ground again. Lastly, my snowpack is literally solid. As you say, snowpiles will remain put!

You're all way too negative. Usually the entire month of December is like the next week or two. Usually snowboarding and skiing in southern Wisconsin is melting between a few days where they can barely make any snow. The first weeks of December being actual winter has allowed all the ski areas down here to have far more terrain open than usual this time of year. The last few years have had December skiing and snowboarding in Wisconsin with the first two weeks of crap snow and freeze/thaw base before Christmas breaks start and they're all so crowded you don't want to go. It's going to suck for the next week or two until it gets cold, they can make snow, and we get some natural snow thrown in. I already managed to get in a mini trip to Mt Lacrosse and Cascade and the snow was absolutely amazing thanks to the first two weeks of December actually being winter. I know some of you are super negative but snowmobile trails down here were the best they've been for years, ski areas were awesome. And there's still two months for things to turn around, instead of sitting through crap and getting a little pity back loaded winter of two weeks.
