Took a drive up to my happy place Lake Cavanaugh to see how things were looking up there. 38 degrees with a little lumpy rain. However the snow level was close.

There are actually some decent similarities in that the pattern is somewhat stable and helping to fuel a lot of baroclinic stuff down this way. The blocking however was a good a couple nudges further east though which probably helped serve as the difference maker. Plus that air mass up north for that event was a serious beast.

I probably jinxed us all by fixing my snowmobile today. I took advantage of the warm weather and cleaned my carbs. That said I remember long range Euro AI being more accurate than the other models, so I hope it's picking up on something good. I'm going to Florida for Christmas so winter better cooperate by the time I get back!
