Scott
I'm back to working in Craig. If the weather forecasts are right, there is about to a huge temperature drop, from the 70's to near 0 in 24 hours:
Anti Marine Layer
It's that time of year for rollercoaster weather.
snow_wizard
It's that time of year for rollercoaster weather. This is highly abnormal for this early though. I think the people who theorized very low solar activity causes a more amplified regime are being proven correct. 1 Quote Death To Warm Anomalies! This event is pretty reminiscent of that, albeit not as cold since we're barely into the month of October!
Anti Marine Layer
Denver forecast to be 78 and partly cloudy on Wednesday and then 34 on Thursday with snow.
Front Ranger
I think the most impressive temp crash I've seen is still Dec 2008. Went from mid 50s in early afternoon to around 0 early the next morning. Also seen 24 drops from near 70 to around 20 on several occasions. Quote A forum for the end of the world. Usually Feb-Apr is the most volatile. This event is pretty reminiscent of that, albeit not as cold since we're barely into the month of October! It was much higher then. That was an impressive event for sure. 1 Quote Death To Warm Anomalies! Anti Marine Layer
They now have 78 F tomorrow for Denver (nice balmy weather) followed by 30 F with snow (winter in full force) on Thursday. That's a 48 F drop in highs.

I've seen a lot of extreme crashes here, but this one is up there. 2 Quote A forum for the end of the world.

Front Ranger
A 47 degree drop in 5 hours at DEN yesterday. I don't believe I've ever seen the temp drop that much, that fast. Next closest would be the 45 degree drop in about 7 hours that I saw in Dec 2008. 1 Quote A forum for the end of the world.
Brian_in_Leavenworth
Just read about a 20 degree drop in 25 minutes in Great Falls, Montana. Also seeing snowfall in Aspen. We were just there last week, as we went through several Colorado towns on our trip. Loved it, fall colors were great, especially in Crested Butte and in the Aspen area. I can see why so many people want to move there. I would have to win the lottery to move there, though I live in a great place now. We will be going back there for vacations though.
