I gotta be honest. I think you guys are making it something that it’s really not.

If you really like something but don’t have anything to add, upvote it. If you like it and want to add something, upvote and comment.

If you dislike what they said but don’t want to get into a large discussion, downvote. If you dislike what they said and feel the need to comment, then do that.

The biggest issue, IMO, isn’t the new system. It’s that it doesn’t work on mobile, which I usually use. But at the same time, my expected experience on here is not any worse because of that. It is what it is.

The change is silly, but let’s not go overboard with how much it changes things. And I’m now going to award you all a downvote. Just kidding.... you’re lucky the function isn’t available on mobile.

It is available on mobile at least iPhone 7

I can’t recall when I hit a dislike/disagree.

I’ll likely just post a quick “ I agree” if they really hit a good nerve with me. I prefer communication.

I am with the folks who liked the old way and for the same reasons. There are many reasons why I feel that system helped maintain both passive/active civility and inclusiveness amongst our fellows.

Wish it mattered but it probably doesn't.

"I like this"

I'm wondering if this was Fred's choice or if it was the forum host. It's possible the host may have changed up their karma systems. I hope that's not the case cuz then our complaints on this would be slightly more likely to fall on deaf ears.

Every decent storm I've had has been followed by only 1-3 days of sub-freezing temps, then a melt-off. This one, at zero days later, takes the prize. Been in the 40's since noon. Prolly be mostly piles by the time things finally harden up sometime in the morning. It did have that March feel this evening here tho - won't be too much longer..

I realize we could have it worse, but this still sucks. Probably the best pattern we can reasonably hope for here, and we're being overrun with nickel and dimers here while being surrounded by actual appreciable totals. If we don't get one 6"+ storm out of this (likely), then this will be a waste of easily the best pattern we have had in 9 years, and maybe even the best we have had this century. Ever since I moved here each and every storm that was supposed to bring good totals for here has ended up being a near-miss with the highest totals either one county away or within my county but a few miles away from here, with a sharp cutoff. As we enter a period where climo begins to support rain even in below normal temps, and sun angle begins to become a major issue, I guess anything more than 3" is too much to ask for. I also have very little hope for the Tuesday night storm. Maybe we'll cash in on that but it's not looking good atm.

And before anyone says anything, yes we are 10" above average. That is impressive, even with the fact that we've only gotten one major storm here. I do realize that I could be in Sioux City right now. I'm not complaining about that, I'm complaining about the fact that for the past eight million years we seem to be within 50 miles of the jack zone here yet radar splits apart at the last second and we get scraps. Normally I'd be happy with a 4" depth, but I am not right now.

I think we're probably going to beat 2009-10 at this point, even though that season was a lot better lol. It would be pretty cool to finally get another 40"+ season regardless though.

Snowfall in Lincoln, NE:

2017-18: 21.4"   2018-19: 55.5"   2019-20: 17.6"   2020-21: 49.4"   2021-22: 5.1" 🤮

Average: 26"

We're 5.6" from 2009-10, yeah that SHOULD be attainable. 2009-10 was more intense but it was also shorter, they only had an inch before December that season whereas this season we had over 10" by the end of November.

We're only a couple tenths away so of course we'll get above average, but the pattern to open February looks very blah to me. Looks like a colder version of December tbh. People to our East will be happy but we won't be. In fact, now that I look at it harder, February as a whole isn't looking too great.

I was wrong.

I know I shouldn't complain, but this winter was still very meh to me.  For one, I can't stand late winters.  A winter that doesn't even show up until late February isn't exactly exciting.  Also, despite the good numbers my area didn't have a single snow system drop more than 4 inches.  We literally had about 10 2-4 inch events.  Idk, wasn't all that exciting without an actual snowstorm in there. At least it wasn't as bad as some of these other winters this decade, but it just wasn't as nice as the numbers will indicate.  There were higher snow totals all around my area of the state, so that kinda makes it seem even more disappointing.  Congrats to the Omaha/Lincoln peeps I guess

Although it is flooding in large areas and it continues, also had 2 barges hit a dam here in Oklahoma due to it....

The 5 year old in me has thought of every dam joke I have ever heard and I still think that's amusing.

Seriously though, prayers for those afflicted by flooding and tornadoes in the recent days.
