October 2016 Observations and Model Discussion for the Pacific Northwest

TT-SEA

Recommended Posts

The 00z WRF would be a perfect track to maximize winds in Seattle.

Not often you see such a large area of 60 knot (70 mph) winds right over Seattle.

Might be lots of people unable to watch the Seahawks-Falcons game on Sunday afternoon.

That's a large concern of mine. Although Steve Raible is pretty good to listen to on the radio.

Already have plans to drag my boys to a bar and grill somewhere and park ourselves for the afternoon if necessary.  :)

I miss listening to him.

He called the Rams-Bills game on the national radio broadcast last Sunday with Mike Holmgren (must be due to the Seahawks bye week).

Very interesting to hear him calling a non-Seahawks game.   He was still great.

I would encourage those of you who are either new to the region or new to the forum to check out Storm King from the University of Washington. It has detailed write ups on nearly every recorded wind event in Western Washington and Oregon.

I recently found this page merely by googling "Spokane windstorm 2015", in reference to the windstorm that shook Spokane last November. They say the write up is on the crafting table. What would cause a massive windstorm without precipitation? I am so ignorant about the science of weather.

Strongest blow of the night ... and so wrong...

He is a fraud. I was on a flight from LAX to PDX when he threw that pick in the Super Bowl. The Captain had been giving game updates, but then stopped. I made sure to let the people around me know that the Chickens would not be repeating as world champs!

Russell Wilson is by far the most overrated QB in the NFL.

Career QBR - 101.6   (Aaron Rodgers is at 103.6)

Tied for most wins for a QB in the first 4 years of his career.

Has lead team to 2 Super Bowls... and has won a Super Bowl.

Set an all-time record for QBR for a 5-game span last year.   19 touchdowns in that span with no interceptions and a 5-game QBR of 140.

Has missed one snap due to injury in his NFL career.

Not too bad... I think he is better than most QBs.   :)
