Did that happen then. Did it show a major switch to soutwesterly only to revert to another northerly blast in 2008??? Thanks ,JP

No.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Our 1950 blast has taken the midnight train to Georgia.

Not much I truly hate in this world...however I am so sick of the east coast constantly hogging all of the cold air.

It's been a very West-centric winter so far.

One month does not make up for nearly 5yrs of mediocrity on the west coast...I still don't like those cold stealing wisenheimers.

Only significant differences at day 4 compared to GFS is southern low is much further offfshore, not getting sucked into northern branch as quickly. And the blocking ridge in Alaska is stronger.

Therefore the same end result. Meh..

Usually pretty good for radiational cooling up here, but I guess with the arctic air leaking out the temperature is struggling to drop. Maybe tomorrow night. Currently 26F and clear after a pretty warm high of 36F.

00Z ECMWF says the transition is straight from dry to rain for most of us.   Except the Hood Canal where it will probably snow for a week straight.

For what's it worth, the precip shield makes it about 50 miles further north on the 00z euro. Baby steps.

Phil's broken air conditioner in his Motel will be thankful for that!

I'm back home finally. From one swamp to another.

I don't care what that map says, every time I would turn on the news I would see dump trucks removing snow and dumping it in rivers to get rid of it, cars buried, polar vortex mania, look at the models to see blues purples and pinks on the east coast and stupid green and reds for the west coast for 850 temps...week after week, month after month, year after year...for the last several years. It's our turn damnit!! Haha!
