Hawkeye
There was strong model support for a west-east band of heavy snow across far northern Iowa. It appears there was a bit more of a "warm" surge up through the eastern half of Iowa, which caused the heaviest snow band to veer north a bit into far se Minnesota. It then veered back to the south in sw Wisconsin. 3 Quote season snowfall: 34.8" '22-23: 30.2" '21-22: 27.1" '20-21: 52.5" '19-20: 36.2" '18-19: 50.2" '17-18: 39.5" Average snowfall: ~30"

I sent 2 men to laurens.. they helped plow the Jack Links factory and several other businesses.. We didn't go until the models locked in on that area. Ruthven 12 inches not far from there! Makes the 3rd time we have "chased snow" as a business.. 2016 snowmaggedon when Baltimore set its record some spots had over 40", last Feb in St lou and now this NW Iowa.. doesnt pay anything like the 60 commercial sites we do here in Ottumwa, Iowa. But gives our best men something to do!

jaster220
BUST! Was coming home from shopping in Troy and ran into SNOW in the metro! Good couple inches covering grass and cars in Farmington-Novi burbs. Just some mood flurries 10 miles south here in Canton - so that verified as expected. 696 started to get a little slush glaze. Restored a tiny bit of hope that this place can maybe get some action going forward. Just hope I'm not stuck waiting on cycle #3 in Feb like has been the case. 2 Quote Winter 2023-24 Snow Total = 53.1" (90% Normal Season) Largest Storm: 12" (1/12-13) Oct: 0.1 Nov: 2.9 Dec: 7.5 Jan: 31.7 Feb: 6.0 Mar: 4.3 Apr: 0.1 Avg = 59.2" (Harrison): 2023-24 = 53.1" Avg = 45.0" (KDTW): 2022-23 = 33.5" 2021-22 = 35.6" Avg = 49.7" (KRMY): 2020-21 = 36.2" 2019-20 = 48.0" 2018-19 = 56.1" 2017-18 = 68.3" 2016-17 = 52" 2015-16 = 57.4" 2014-15 = 55.3" 2013-14 = 100.6" (coldest & snowiest in the modern record!) 2012-13 = 47.2" 2011-12 = 43.7" Legit Blizzards (high winds and dbl digit snows): Feb 2011, Dec 2009, Jan 2005, Dec 2000, Jan 1999, Mar 1998, Nov 1989, Jan 1982, Jan 1978, Jan 1977, Apr 1975, Mar 1973, Jan 1967, Feb 1965, Jan 1918

There was a short period of heavy snow and there was a good inch of snow on the ground in no time. The car thermometer had a reading of 29 so it was cold enough for the snow to stick. To my surprise when I go home there was just a trace of snow on the ground. That is a distance of about 15 miles. This happens a lot with lake effect but yesterday was not lake effect.

Cool color scheme. Was a 4" report from South Haven along the shoreline so there was at least one small spot in MI that deserved the next shade of pink. Had nothing at my place, but 2 miles north roofs had a coating. The zone between 96/696 and M-59 (Pontiac) did the best and woke to a nice ground covering. Same exact place that scored well last winter including Dec. New year, same results as others have chimed.
