TT-SEA
No new posts since last night. That's unusual. Looks like rain amounts were low in the PNW despite Cliff Mass predicting a heavy rain event. It was a mountain and foothills event as he showed last week. Crazy orographic enhancement in this pattern. It has not stopped raining here since Friday evening... even though it managed to clear out for awhile yesterday around Seattle. Almost up to 4 inches here on the month. And I am sure places in the North Cascades got much more. Water is absolutely roaring down the ridge here this morning... every waterfall and creek is running at full throttle. This type of perpetual warm front pattern happens every couple years. It also usually leads to much nicer weather down the road. TT-SEA
And the radar is lying again, still raining. I was going to mention that... the radar is really bad at capturing the extent of this low level drizzle. I looked at the radar this morning and saw all the rain was to the north but then checked out the traffic cams and it was very wet with low visibility all the way to Bellevue along I-90. Current radar would make you think its all dry around here... But this is really what it looks like... TT-SEA
We have reached February 5th... the day that the record lows at most stations jump up significantly. To illustrate... the record low at SEA on 2/4 is 7 degrees set in 1989. The record low on 2/9 is 26 degrees. It does go lower than that on some days of course... but before today most of the record lows are in the single digits and teens and after today most of the record lows are in the 20s.
