But just business as usual here. Keep that cold east of the Rockies til Thanksgiving. This system was supposed to drop a decent amount and we have just seen drizzle at most.

Through next weekend... looks like some mountain areas getting close to 20 inches of rain.  

 

 

Would likely be some serious flooding if the ECMWF verifies.   It shows a firehose over western WA for at least 5 straight days.

 

GFS and FV3 GFS show nothing like this at all.

The end of the ECMWF run shows the same basic 500mb pattern that brought the crazy rain totals earlier in the run... but its almost totally dry by day 10.

 

My guess is that its picking up on tropical moisture entrenched in the westerlies next week making a benign looking 500mb pattern turn into a significant flooding scenario.

Another soaking wet football game last night.  The bands of rain just kept redeveloping.  I kept telling the team that we were almost done, almost done...almost done.  Then it stopped after the game.  Exactly as it did a couple of weeks ago.  Ended up with 0.47".

Temporary break this morning... no rain and no fog.    Rain comes northward like its shot out of a cannon later this afternoon with very heavy rain shown overnight.

Looks like I have until around 2 pm for decorating yard before raindrops start falling on my head (Tigard Or.) . Not the best morning to decorate with everything so wet. Would love some breezy warm south winds to dry this up. On the other hand looking forward to T-storms tomorrow!!!

This would be fairly decent up here... but don't trust it at all.   

 

 

The GFS does not show anything like the persistent firehose flooding pattern that the ECMWF shows starting Wednesday.    But I have learned never to doubt the ECMWF surface maps.
