October 2018 Weather in the Pacific Northwest

Recommended Posts

It should go back to the Power 4. The Pac12 has no place in the national football conversation. This is something that I could agree with Tim on.

Anyway, that isn't weather, but this is.

Cold drizzle in Snohomish.

I'll try to stick to weather.

No drizzle here... raining so hard that my satellite signal is going out and preventing me from flipping back and forth between the World Series and the Ducks-Arizona game!

They are playing very well after some early season struggles. If they end up playing WSU in the Pac-12 title game I expect they will beat them pretty easily.

I disagree, but that is the fun in being a fan, right? The Cougs are playing on another level right now. Plus, the Cougs have beaten Utah already once this year so....

I f**king hate the Red Sox. Like, I’ve got some real dark thoughts running through my head right now.

That is probably the series right there.

Seems like more Red Sox fans in LA than Dodger fans.

We'll see. What they are doing this year is pretty special so far. The Cougs are my 2nd favorite Pac-12 team so I'd love to see them keep it up.

Was kind of hoping for 19 innings tonight...but no such luck. The Red Soxs are just as annoying as the Patriots.

In other news, it rained a ton this evening. Currently in a dry slot though. 50.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

As an avid baseball fan and player myself, I can tell you that the psychological component of the game cannot be understated. If you have great team chemistry and can keep your emotions in check/filter out the noise, it goes a long way. Just one millimeter on the bat and/or your swing plane can make the difference between a home run and a lazy fly ball. So can 1/500th of a second in the timing of your swing release.

Players crumble when they get lost inside their own heads and over-prognosticate. It’s happened to me on many occasions. You either change your mentality and learn from it, or you don’t.

This feels like it's true of all 4 sports honestly. Things happen so quickly in all of them.

The whole Pac12 is bad. Even WSU would have 3 losses in the Big12.

Wouldn't be surprised to see the Ducks lose out.

Ducks are losing 37-8 going to the 4th quarter to a 3-5 team?

Losing 12-10 to Cal (5-3) seems like a good night in comparison.   Cal did not have an offensive touchdown.   At least the defense showed up for the Huskies.   Nobody has shown up for the Ducks tonight!

Had a soaker of a soccer game tonight. We play pretty much every week from February through mid-November, and we've been lucky this year, all but one of our games up until week have been dry.  And the other wet game was nothing compared to tonight.

Big fat raindrops fell during most of the first half, it stopped for about 10 minutes, then it started again with the wind kicking up from the north, with the big fat raindrops showing up for the last 10-15 minutes.  The precip started up about 5pm, and I have .61 in the rain gauge at this point.

We usually have a windstorm every year, but have come up blank for 2018.  We have 3 more chances before winding down for the holidays.

After this game it is hard to believe Oregon beat UW and CAL and should have beaten Stanford. They don't even look like a competitive team. Herbert is an absolute joke. Drafting him in the first round would be horrible for any NFL team. They will be lucky to win another game after watching the past two weeks. So disappointing.

Assuming the Ducks lose tonight... if the Huskies run the table and win the next 3 games then they will win the PAC-12 North.

If they run the table then they will also beat WSU and Stanford and have the tiebreaker over both of them.

So technically... the Huskies still control their destiny.

SEA is now over 3 inches for October and above normal for the month... surprising given that it was such a shockingly dry month.    This will be a wet October in the history books.

SEA is now over 3 inches for October and above normal for the month... surprising given that it was such a shockingly dry month.    This will be a wet October in the history books.

Just hit the 3" mark on the month here. I am sure we will end up with more rain this month than SEA, but probably a bit below normal for the month.

I think November could be a pretty active month.

Pretty intense frontal (passage?) here. Still pouring just as hard as before.
