The max here for the month has been 60 with a low of only 29... but I have had more than 10 times as much snow as you (3.5 inches).    :)

I believe rainfall is running below average as well.

The snow has been pretty sparse this year. 2014-15 was about as bad as it gets and I'm not even close to that pathetic total. My last snow that year was April 15th though, so not ready to give up on snow yet. I only had about 1" total heading into February last year and the season turned out OK.

Timing is everything for me.    Running up the totals when it should be spring is a serious negative to me.   Focus that around the Holidays!

But we often get big dumps of snow in March and April which can quickly skew the seasonal total.

Too bad this very active c-zone is bringing rain to Snoqualmie Pass.

They got a big dump of snow yesterday and its being ruined today ahead of a long dry spell.

I'm gone quite a bit in December usually so I don't mind having my snow a bit later. I missed quite a bit of snow/cold in 2015 and 2016 while I was out of town. The spring snows usually melt within a day or two. 2012 was a cool wet spring, but we really haven't had one since then. It would be interesting to have a 2008, 2010, 2011 type spring again after the past 5-6 warm ones. Last year it felt like we went from winter right into summer.

We average just about as many days with rain in May as we do in November here (16 vs 19).

Spring can be the most depressing time of the year here for me.   I absolutely love years when there is big improvement each month from March through May... because all too often it can really seem like winter into June.   Or in some years we go backwards for a month.

This might be anecdotal... but looking back through the historical data here it seems like the warm season used to start earlier here and end earlier in the fall.

2008, 2010, and 2011 still stuck in your head?

Even 2017 improved by May.

No doubt... Jared says that all the time.   I am sure that is true.     You can include 2012 in there as well.

We learned back then to strategically plan trips to combat nature's bitchy spring moods.    :)

00z is not only showing a lack of cold air but a warm blast in the PNW on 2/3 with temps in my area showing 61 at 4PM. Interesting.

It will only be 60.3 and it will happen at 3:24 p.m.

Don't believe those warm model runs!      ;)

Average daily precipitation for Portland is now 0.15”, down from 0.16”.

Seattle just dropped down to .17”. I am still surprised that Portland wouldn’t see more rain than Seattle since we have some shadowing from the Olympics which create more of a shadow than the Oregon coastal range. The Chehalis gap must make up for it.

I assume so. You get the most rain in Olympia because of the Chehalis Gap. I think during El Niño years, Seattle gets the northern jet more often while we’re stuck in splitsville (hence why Seattle got 35” in 2018 and we got 27”). Remember - that southern jet is all the way down in far northern CA.

Should have thought cold and snow harder

I was thinking cold ENUFF and Heavy SNO, but it didn't work.
