Despite the ridge initially a smidgy hair tad bit further east as it merged the block ended setting up further west.

Day 5 - Does the GEFS though show the block further east than the Operational as 18z, 12z did? I dunno

If you compare models from previous runs it looked west from the get go. I guess I’m shaving my head soon unless something crazy happens. Come on crazy!!!!

The trough axis is a NOTCH further west. Not quite as chilly through hour 120 as the 18z.

PDX sounding 4AM Thanksgiving. Plenty of cold dry air makes it over here. Hopefully we can get some snow cover in the gorge at some point to really get that cold pool going.

Really liking the amplification with the block now and the orientation with the H/ over L

This is some nice eye candy, but it's very tenuous, chances are it slides east, but who knows.

On the Op run yeah it does, but the GEFS hasn't been showing that rather the block broadens a bit, then strengthens amplifying with some retrogression after Day 10.

Yep and another modified blast into the Columbia Basin. PDX/GORGE = very cold!
