Hoping you get hit by c-zone tomorrow.

I had a strong feeling this frontal stuff wasn't gonna work out. It's the exact situation in which models struggle with precipitation amounts... And we struck negative, albeit with no loss of soil moisture in two days, as cold cloudy weather has prevented much if any daytime heating or sfc evaporation.

If we're speaking in strict terms, this was not a shutout. Roughly a tenth of an inch has fallen in the last three days, nearly all of which from earlier this morning, the rest few hundredths of an inch strewn about the various skiffs and bands of stratus water misters occasionally gracing us with their presence for five minutes at a time. Enough to reduce visibility to eight miles, maybe seven.

Models are more gracious with the convergence zone activity. Hope they're right

Last 2 days for us. Greens are popping, nice to get properly hydrated but otherwise I agree - way too cold and zero break in the gloom; about as much fun as 65 around Christmas. Proper vitamin D stretch is on the way tho! ☀️

Yes... about to be rewarded.   But I am certain there will be plenty more cool/wet days between now and the 4th of July.   Because that is how it works almost every year up here.  This talk of endless heat and sun from now until October is pretty silly.

No doubt about that.  This decade has shown me that in spades.

Pulled off a high of 49 here today.  No easy trick for this late in the year.  I actually think this spring has had a pretty dynamic mix of temps.

It has been much wetter out this way.  I've had about 0.60" the last couple of days.  It has still been a pretty dry spring overall though.

Yes... overall its been decent.   The last couple weeks have been crappy though.    Par for the course.  There are probably 1 or 2 more periods like this coming up before we get to our annual warm/dry period.

Warmest weather so far of the year coming up! Possible 90 🍔 on Saturday . If not for PDX maybe another location nearby. It’s going to make up for this weekend and then some.🌞 🏖️ 🏝️ 😎

I'm sure glad we got those couple of nice days last week.  There is just something about gloom with long days that rubs me wrong.  It's worth it to get a much below normal max like today though.

I agree on the gloom part... but for me the cold max is just insult to injury.    I actually don't mind 60s and rain in the warm season.   I can do without 40s.  😃

Looks like we might put up a couple more lows in the 30s this week before the warmth comes.

One thing about this very cool weather is it doesn't bode well for the mid section of the country at all.  These cold troughs in the NW have been the fuel for the severe weather there.

I do enjoy cool nights and sunny days.   Any time the sun is shining between now and early October feels decently warm.

It has to do with hormones. We need sunlight to function properly as humans. Gloomy weather is a powerful stressor to the body.

“Excess stress (which can block progesterone synthesis and elevate estrogen) may bring on symptoms in someone who never had them. Spending a summer in Alaska, with an unusually long day, may relieve the symptoms of a chronic sufferer. Dark cloudy winters in England or the Pacific Northwest are powerful stressors, and cause lower production of progesterone in women, and testosterone in men.”

Ended up with a 53/46 spread today here. Some morning rain, then mostly cloudy much of the afternoon with a cool breeze and spots of light rain/drizzle at times. Dry and 49 currently with just a little bit of light still in the sky.

Picked up about .20” on the day. Closing in on 2” for May so far. Let’s see what we can pick up in the way of showers the next couple days.
