It's good, but the "good" are 850s -10c or colder and we were really close to that. Western Canada was much colder this run. I do think colder runs are ahead. I really want to see what the block is looking like in about 3 days. What is most glaring is from about Day 4 through 10 how much stronger the block was compared to the GFS/GEM.

Way too early. I'm trying to break away from doing anything more than focusing on 00z runs. In 3-4 days IF things shape up on the models as I think they might that will increase precipitously.

I'd still say we're just now kicking off the regular season, at this point it's about picking up the Ws where we can. Seeing persistent blocking episodes into Alaska, for example.

The unknowns with the next 3-5 days of model runs are what changes/differences will we see with the Aleutian ridge, ridge merger/evolving block, strength/amplitude of block, cut-off low, and supply of arctic air in BC/AB.

I know it seems silly, and maybe not that important? I guess, but I really liked that feature of seeing who was online and so on. @iFred can you enable that again? or were there issues with that?

      April 24-29 Multi Day Central and Southern Plains Severe Weather Outbreak

      Getting a nice steady generous rain here after some thunderstorms rolled through earlier this afternoon… finally passed the 1 inch mark for storm total rainfall earlier. Looks like the heavy swath of convection to the south (in KS/ MO) might eat away at our heavy rain/ thunderstorm potential for tonight… however I am really enjoying this soaking rainfall right now without the destruction from yesterday’s storms.
