Kind of interesting to note that Chile is currently in one of it's greatest autumn cold snaps on record with this on track to be their coldest May since 1950. They are in a cold wave that is 8 days and running.
Nice to see something like this on the cold side of the ledger for a change. Could have implications for the developing La Nina as well. Those SSTs along the West Coast of South America are pretty darn cold right now.
