Scott26
I bet LOT will keep the 6-10 area wide, but just stress that southern areas are now favored to be closest to that 10 inch mark. I think that pretty much all of the counties in the Warning area other than the Wisconsin border will get 6 plus. Definitely warning snow worthy. Tom
I'm sitting at around 5" snow depth...snow really settled over the last week. I'd be happy with another 6" to boost it back up to 11". We still have another storm on the horizon. Let's enjoy this one and see what surprises are in store.

winterfreak
No snow here. Despite temperatures being more than cold enough it'll stay freezing rain as warm air aloft will screw with our snow totals as usual.
Tom
Dang, thought that it would be cold enough for snow...
winterfreak
The air tempertaure is plenty cold enough it's the freaking warm nose aloft that messes with it.

Tom
Some real nice convection showing up SW of KC, could be highly reflective sleet that the radar is picking up but goes to show you what this storm may have in intensity when it arrives here. Sciascia
The snow that has fallen here (really light) has that glittery texture to it. Tom
If snow ratios turn out higher, this storm may become an overachiever. I'd guess the snow falling right now is 15:1 ratios. Snow ratios will fall by midday tomorrow but we may do good through the morning hours.

ChiTownWeather
Just got a small coating so far, was snowing decently about 45 minutes ago. Radar does look nice with a beeline toward NE IL. I think we can throw out all other models except HI-RES now, just a nowcast event. Although RAP and HRRR hint at southerly trend, I'm not buying it. Overall most of the CWA should get 4-8 with isolated 10 in. Anything over 4 inches will please me as this winter just keep giving (starting to cause a major salt shortage with the mississippi frozen over)

Meichel
Snowed along 80/90 from western Ohio all the way home. Worst was from Michigan City, IN to the IL border. .25" IMBY so far. Looks like the totals have been cut back a bit. On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.
ChiTownWeather
How far south is it frozen over? Moderate snow here now.I know that there were ice problems down near St. Louis that caused a ship carrying salt to now transport the rest of the salt by truck up to Chicago area.
