Minny_Weather
Scattered thunderstorm activity, included repeated hits to Hemet, which is now under a FFW. Should at least help with the fire around there. 3 Quote Formerly *ahem*: LNK_Weather, TOL_Weather, FAR_Weather, MSP_Weather, IMoveALot_Weather. Reg
In the span of only 15 minutes I have recorded 0.52" and still rising here in Murrieta. Lightning, thunder, wind, and very heavy rain. 2
Pn1ct0g3n
LA basin still quiet as a tomb. Farther south it’s lighting up; even coastal areas!

Minny_Weather
As usual (regardless of where I live), I got the shaft on all the heavy rain. Two different thunderstorms, one severe, passed about five miles to my south. I got moderate rain from one of those for about five minutes. 1 Quote Formerly *ahem*: LNK_Weather, TOL_Weather, FAR_Weather, MSP_Weather, IMoveALot_Weather. Reg
Thunderstorm has passed and left me with 0.64". That was wild, flooded my street for a little bit. Lake Elsinore apparently getting hit even harder, over 1.06" there right now from the same cluster of thunderstorms.

Probably one of the ones you saw pass south of you. Inner tube of my CoCoRahs manual rain gauge (which I use as a backup) overflowed from this thunderstorm, although I had not yet emptied it from Friday's rain. Pn1ct0g3n
My area got near-totally snubbed on rain, as expected. Oh well, what matters is the coastal slopes get enough to take the edge off peak fire season. 1

Reg
The cluster of thunderstorms that was over us in the Temecula Valley and broader ECZ seems to have merged into a larger one over the Santa Ana Mountains now, spreading into Orange County. Looks like it has lost some of its energy however. San Bernardino Mountains, especially near Running Springs, are lit up right now. Some action in the Antelope Valley over Lancaster and Palmdale as well.

roadtonowhere08
It's the nature of rain shadows though. Leeward always gets screwed. Direction matters. LA through the San Gabriel Valley and on into San Bernardino though is a bit different it seems. They always seem to get some good cells regardless of direction. Good funnel effect I guess.
