It is a scary situation down your way. Pretty easy to just shrug it off when you live in the north, although people have been murdered by illegals up here too.
We used to live in *that* neighborhood, and it was just nuts how much candy we would go through. When we bought our house and moved to a new neighborhood, it was just about as busy, but has tapered off over the years. What's really (not) fun is when you buy a metric crap-ton of candy then the weather sh*ts the bed with sideways 40 degree heavy rain, and you barely get 5 trick or treaters.
Once our kids were old enough we got out of the Halloween gig all together. Never been a fan of it, even when I was a kid. I loved getting the candy but hated dressing up. I was a ghost every year. Now we hide in the back of the house with all of the lights off.
