Tropical Pacific is in full blown Nina mode atmospherically speaking and it's going to get even more so. ENSO SSTs are responding as well. The ECMWF is also hinting at Darwin possibly going below 1000mb which historically speaking often coincides with major 150W blocking. I discovered that by accident when examining the data years ago. I'm feeling very good about our prospects.

Just a minor body shot at that point but it could be something. Those strat forecasts don’t flail quite as wildly as you see in the 500mb patterns.
