What is so special about Alexandria?

Total depth right now is about 10" with all the blowing its hard to tell for sure some spots are 8" some are 13" but the calmest areas are about 10" but incredibly powdery. Hoping next week we get a little heavier stuff but I'm leaning towards anything we get being lighter. That said, it's beautiful and almost covering the cut corn stalks in the farm fields. Once it gets past that for a longer period I'll feel like we had a solid winter. We had some great snowfalls early in December that would have made this year feel like a classic winter had it not melted. We've had almost 36" on the season. Northern Wisconsin has been doing great, was just up near the cabin in Tripoli and it was great seeing all the snowmobiles. The last few years have been rough during winter up there. Much needed snow this year.

Yeah, it's pretty depressing when you start to feel like you're the *only* place in the US that doesn't get snow. I know we got a trace amount in the swamp last year but I was on a work trip to Philly where it was 15 degrees and snowless, so I missed it. My kids (7 and 8) basically don't remember getting snow here at all, ever. This winter definitely feels like the worst ever--at least we had some stuff to ride last year. This year is utterly barren. Maybe it's time to move to Florida, where they've gotten snow two years in a row.
