Just spoke to my mother-n-law who lives out in Covington which I think is not far from Jim. Just rain there.

36 still but the dp has dropped to 21 and is still dropping. Pretty much all snow now though. Too bad the heavier precip is ending.

The cams at Stanley's Junction at 200 feet are starting to look pretty snowy. Sounds like the far western metro area is starting to turn to some very wet snow.

31.8 here now and dewpoint has not budged... still at 30.

yeah... It has only been sprinkling here for the last half hour. Temp up to 39.5 now and dp is 36..

This precipitation is just way too light. I have only been getting a slight drizzle for the last 20 minutes.

Just noticed on the web cam from I-90 on the east side of North Bend that the road is still dry.   Crazy because its been snowing here for 2 hours and that is just a few miles away.

Switched over to all snow here now. Still 36 but the dp has dropped to 18. East wind has picked up a bit so I guess that's why the DP is dropping so much.

12Z ECMWF shows significant precip over the Portland area from 4-7 p.m. which is much better timing.

Our road leaving the house! Then drove up to Lake Loma which is the high point of our area a little over a mile from our house...almost 2" up there! Lake house has about a half inch. Still snowing!

Yeah, all the models have been iffy with precip placement. Compact system and a tenative thermal profile.

Waves of pretty heavy snow here with that cold east wind. Starting to get a very slushy accumulation on the deck and patio. Temp down to 35 with the dp sitting at 17. East wind has definitely picked up and it is quite cold!

It turned to snow here at a pretty warm temperature. Knew some good stuff was happening just above me.

Just glanced at 12z GEM/ECMWF they both keep a strong, persistent Columbia Basin cold pool with potential snow event Tuesday night/Wednesday. A prolonged 'fake cold' regime lasts through at least day 10 possibly longer as arctic air filters into eastern Washington at times and that only reinforces the cold pool. I even see some signs that PDX may be closer to freezing for high temps into January simply due to constant strong and cold east wind thickening the cold layer progressively over time. It will be essentially a bit similar to if a backdoor modified arctic front was located from the Gorge eastward.
